Our story begins in 1898 when US Soldiers began training in the Chickamauga Battlefield for the Spanish-American War. Fort Oglethorpe served as a military post till 1946.

The City of Fort O was established in 1949, and our story continues today as a thriving community that has never forgotten where we came from.

Fort Oglethorpe is just nine miles south of Chattanooga and is in the center of family-friendly entertainment and events.
