Winter Skating at Stable 41: A Family Adventure
Last year, our family discovered one of the best-kept secrets for holiday fun—Winter Skating at Stable 41 in Fort Oglethorpe. I can’t believe we didn’t know about it sooner! With three-year-old Ella and nine-year-old Jake in tow, my husband and I were looking for a festive activity that wouldn’t break the bank. After hearing about Winter Skating from a friend, we decided to try it—and I’m so glad we did!
One of the first things that caught my attention was the price. Skates are included in the ticket price, which makes it an incredible value. Compared to other skating options in the area, which can be much pricier (and usually charge extra for skate rentals), Stable 41 was refreshingly affordable. It felt like a win before we even arrived!
The moment we stepped onto the property, Jake couldn’t wait to lace up his skates and hit the rink while Ella was mesmerized by the twinkling decorations. Even though my husband and I aren’t expert skaters, we couldn’t resist joining the kids on the rink. It wasn’t long before we were all laughing, wobbling, and gliding (well, mostly wobbling) across the smooth surface. For Jake, who has more energy than I know what to do with, skating was the perfect way to burn off steam. And for little Ella, just watching her try to balance (with the help of a trainer) and shuffle her way forward was a memory I’ll cherish forever.
After skating, we took a break to warm up and grab some snacks. Jake loved his cup of hot chocolate (extra marshmallows), and Ella couldn’t stop talking about how much fun she had.
As we drove home, my husband and I agreed that this was one of our favorite holiday outings ever. The combination of affordability, family fun, and holiday spirit made Winter Skating at Stable 41 something we’ll be doing again this year—and likely for many years to come.
If you’re a parent looking for a way to make holiday memories without the stress of sky-high prices, Winter Skating at Stable 41 is a must. Tickets are available at letsgoforto.com, and trust me, it’s worth every penny.
Maybe we’ll see you there—look for a mom trying her best not to fall while chasing a now four-year-old and smile-clad ten-year-old. 😊
